Service Engineer

Odin Recruitment is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Service Engineer to support one of our clients in the delivery of high-quality maintenance and technical support services. This is a field-based role covering customer sites in and around the Brentford area, where you’ll be responsible for diagnosing faults, conducting repairs, and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend client sites to resolve system issues quickly and professionally
• Use your fault-finding and problem-solving skills to provide long-term solutions
• Deliver training to end users to ensure effective system operation
• Accurately complete job reports and communicate steps taken to clients
• Build strong relationships with customers and maintain a high level of service
• Conduct site surveys and record findings to a high standard
• Occasionally support commissioning work on construction sites
• Identify and report potential sales opportunities back to the sales team
• Stay current with technical developments and maintain industry knowledge

Required Experience and Skills:

• Strong background in a Service Engineer or AV Engineering role
• Hands-on experience with systems such as:
  • Audio Visual: DSPs, mixers, amplifiers, public address systems, HDMI, projectors
  • RF/TV/Satellite, effect lighting, access control, data networks, and automation
• Ability to interpret AV schematics and terminate cables to industry standards
• Familiarity with IP-based systems and PC networks
• Soldering experience and working knowledge of audio connectors and cable types
• ECS card (or equivalent), valid UK driving licence
• Able to work under pressure and on tight deadlines
• Comfortable working independently for long periods
• Presentable, professional, and courteous in customer-facing environments
• Flexible to travel within a wider geographic area as needed

• CSCS
• IPAF
• PASMA
• Avixa CTS
