Electrical Maintenance Engineer




Due to year on year growth and a recent promotion, a highly respected and successful manufacturer in Wigan are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to complete their successful engineering team on days

Working Monday to Friday your typical duties will include the following:

  • Maintain and install all electrical & electro-mechanical plant or machinery in line with company requirements, 
  • Complete and comply with PM schedule to ensure that plant & machinery is in good working order,
  • Reactive fault finding of any electrical or electro-mechanical related problems on the plant or equipment to return to production in a safe and timely approach.
  • Interrogate PLC equipment, such as Allen Bradley & Siemens.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to the installation of new equipment when required.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following skills & experience:

  • You must have completed a formal Electrical Engineering apprenticeship from within a manufacturing background.
  • You must have experience in planned maintenance strategies (PPM) and have a strong focus towards continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of wiring, circuits & electrical components
  • Knowledge of PLC logic and fault finding.
  • Familiar with VSD’s, both AC/DC & Servo systems.
  • Knowledge of process controls.
  • Able to read electrical schematic drawings,
  • Experience working on pneumatics and hydraulic systems preferred.
  • 17th or 18th edition preferred.
